Hi,

I have very recently bought my first Alfa ( an 03 166 2.5 V6 24v).
I understand I need to give it Selenia 20K 10W40 oil, is this easy to pick
up from most car shops, etc,
are there any compatible alternatives that I can use and how much is a
5litre can cost ?

Thanks

Fiat/Alfa only stockists.
If under warranty then using substitute could invalidate it. Check with
Dealer.

I paid £27 for 5L can, as against £10 /L can.

NOT correct.

Selenia is Only a Recommended product.
There is No Way that your warranty can be affected one iota
by using a different make.

What you Must observe is the Type of oil.
Any Make 10W-40 Synthetic based for UK use.

If you want the best performance then there is a
base of people who would argue that Fully Synth oil
10W60 - such as Selenia Racing is used.

My local Alfa main dealer uses Castrol GTX Magnatec. (Interestingly, so does
the Ford dealer). The Alfa dealer told me it was virtualy impossible to get
Selenia.

That's why I said check with dealer as the legalities of warranties is not
my special interest area.
